Evaluation of the effects and mechanisms of action of glufosinate, an organophosphate insecticide, on striatal dopamine release by using in vivo microdialysis in freely moving rats

The purpose of the present work was to assess the effects of glufosinate ammonium (GLA), an aminoacid structurally related to glutamate, on in vivo dopamine (DA) release from rat striatum, using brain microdialysis coupled to HPLC-EC.

Determination of kynurenic acid levels in rat brain microdialysis samples and changes in kynurenic acid levels induced by N-acetylaspartic acid

The levels of kynurenic acid, an endogenous antagonist of ?7 nicotinic acetylcholine and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors, were measured in microdialysis samples obtained from the prefrontal cortices of rats using column-switching high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection.

Influence of Intrastriatal Infusion of Dynorphin Fragments on Overflow of Acetylcholine and Dopamine in the Rat Brain

Dynorphin (DYN) fragments are the members of the endogenous opioid system and postulated ligands for the opioid receptors. Infusion of DYN1-17 fragment into the rat dorsal striatum caused a significant increase in acetylcholine and decrease in dopamine overflow.
