Human growth hormone peptide 1–43: Isolation from pituitary glands

AbstractA procedure is described for isolation from human pituitary glands of a peptide with the amino acid sequence of the first 43 residues of human growth hormone, hGH (1–43). The peptide was recovered in a yield of 12 mg per 1000 pituitary glands.

Room Temperature Phosphorescence as a Liquid Chromatographic Detection Method for Polychlorinated Naphthalenes and Biphenyls in Complex Matrices

Quenched and sensitized room temperature phosphorescence techniques have been used for the detection of PCNs and PCBs after liquid chromatographic separation. The usefulness of these techniques to fingerprinting of commercial Aroclor and Halowax mixtures in complex matrices has been shown.

A Sensitive Method for Simultaneous Determination of Airborne Organolead Compounds Part I: Chromatographic Separation and Chemical Reaction Detection

Reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography coupled to a sensitive chemical reaction detector has been developed for the separation and detection of inorganic lead and organolead compounds. The separation of Pb2+, Me, Pb+, Et3Pb+, Me4Pb, and Et4Pb can be achieved within 50 minutes.

Application of HPLC in the Determination of Amino Acids in Natural Waters

Pharmacokinetics of Spironolactone After a Single Dose: Evaluation of the true Canrenone Serum Concentrations During 24 Hours

True canrenone levels were measured by a specific HPLC assay. The mean Cmax of true canrenone was only 33% of the Cmax of canrenone + other metabolites. The fraction of true canrenone rises during 24 hours, indicating that canrenone has a slower elimination rate than the other metabolites.

Simultaneous determination of tryptophan and its 5-hydroxy metabolites in human cerebrospinal fluid by reversed phase liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection

ensitive ion-pair reversed phase liquid chromatographic method for determining tryptophan, 5-hydroxytryptophan, 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) and 5-hydroxyindole acetic acid has been developed. To separate these indoles in cerebrospinal fluid both octadecyl- and phenyl-bonded columns were tested.
