Controlling the photoluminescence of ZnO:Si nano-composite films by heat-treatment

Crystallinity of nano-grains and defects contribute different emission peaks that depending on relative contributions can give comparable peaks resulting in broad emission spectra.

Structural deformation monitored by vibrational properties and orbital modeling in (Pb,Sm)TiO3 systems

Pb1?xSmxTiO3 (PST) powders with x varying from 0 to 0.1 were obtained by the polymeric precursor method, a soft chemical route. The vibrational properties relating tetragonal to pseudo-cubic phase transition were studied by Raman spectroscopy.

ZnO nanocones: Solvothermal synthesis and photoluminescence properties

Ellipsoidal and prism shaped ZnO nanocrystals with hexagonal cross-sections have been synthesized by a simple solvothermal process. The ellipsoidal ZnO nanocrystals possessed a unique hexagonal cross-section having two sharp pointed ends and a flattened central part.

Photoluminescence of Fe2O3 nanoparticles prepared by laser oxidation of Fe catalysts in carbon nanotubes

Iron oxide nanoparticles have been produced on the top surface of aligned multi-walled carbon nanotubes by CO2 laser processing. They were characterized to be Fe2O3 nanoparticles by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and high resolution scanning electronic microscopy.

Preparation of Cu–Zn/ZnO core–shell nanocomposite by surface modification and precipitation process in aqueous solution and its photoluminescence properties

novel core?shell structure material, Cu?Zn/ZnO, was prepared by a surface modification precipitation process in aqueous solution at low temperature. A nucleation and crystal growth model for this structure was proposed.

Synthesis and characterization of spherical ZrO2:Eu3+ phosphors by spray pyrolysis process

Physical and electronic properties of ZnO:Al/porous silicon

UV, violet and blue-green photoluminescence has been achieved at room temperature (RT) from ZnO:Al (AZO) films deposited by radio frequency (rf) co-sputtering. As the ZnO target power increases from 100W, the violet luminescence vanishes and the blue and green-blue luminescences appear.
