Ultralong zinc-blende ZnS nanowires grown on polar C face of 6H–SiC substrates at low temperatures by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition

Crystal growth and characterization of CuI single crystals by solvent evaporation technique

Cuprous iodide (CuI) crystals are grown by slow evaporation technique in three different solvents. Large CuI single crystals with dimensions of 7.5mm?5mm?3mm are obtained in pure acetonitrile solvent at 40?C.

Indium sulfide microflowers: Fabrication and optical properties

With the assistance of urea, uniform 2D nanoflakes assembled 3D In2S3 microflowers were synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method at relative low temperature. The properties of the as-obtained In2S3 flowers were characterized by various techniques.

ZnO nanocones: Solvothermal synthesis and photoluminescence properties

Ellipsoidal and prism shaped ZnO nanocrystals with hexagonal cross-sections have been synthesized by a simple solvothermal process. The ellipsoidal ZnO nanocrystals possessed a unique hexagonal cross-section having two sharp pointed ends and a flattened central part.

Epitaxially grown zinc-blende structured Mn doped ZnO nanoshell on ZnS nanoparticles

Therefore, zinc oxide shell is grown epitaxially on zinc sulphide core nanoparticles having zinc-blende structure. It is shown that doping of manganese could be achieved in zinc oxide nanoshell with zinc-blende structure.

Photoluminescence of Si nanocrystals under selective excitation

Photoluminescence of Si nanocrystals passivated by different alkanes (hexane, octane, and tridecane) was studied at room temperature. It is shown that the emission band shape is not affected by the length of the carbon chain in the alkanes used for passivation.

Photoluminescence and XPS analyses of Mn2+ doped ZnS nanocrystals embedded in sol–gel derived hybrid coatings

Photoluminescence and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies of Mn2+ doped ZnS nanocrystals in inorganic?organic hybrid coatings prepared by a sol?gel process are presented. A 25-fold enhancement of photoluminescence was observed after UV irradiation for 6h in an ambient atmosphere.

Optical properties of Ba2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphor for green light-emitting diode (LED)

Eu2+ activated Ba2SiO4 phosphors were synthesized at 1573K by solid-state reactions under a weak reductive atmosphere and systematically investigated by photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra, diffuse reflectance spectra, concentration quenching process and lifetime.
