Strong luminescence of novel water-soluble lanthanide complexes sensitized by pyridine-2,4,6-tricarboxylic acid

Sensitive biological analysis requires optical labels have good water solubility and excellent luminescent properties. Herein, two water-soluble lanthanide (Ln) complexes, Na6[Ln(PTA)3] (Ln=Eu and Tb), have been synthesized with a new tridentate ligand, pyridine-2,4,6-tricarboxylic acid (H3PTA).

Luminescent mesoporous colloidal silica: A nanoporous substrate for photosensitization of lanthanide ions

Nearly monodisperse, mesoporous, colloidal silica spheres were treated with aminopropyltriethoxysilane and subsequently calcined to generate luminescent mesoporous colloidal silica (LMCS), with broad bimodal visible emission and high surface areas exceeding 700m2/g.

Compositional effect on structural and spectroscopic properties of P2O5–SnO–MnO ternary glass system
