High-temperature optical properties of sensitized Er3+ in Si-rich SiO2 – implications for gain performance

The high-temperature photoluminescence of Er-doped Si-rich SiO2 with and without silicon nanocrystals is studied at sample temperatures in the range 20?200?C. The optical properties of Er-doped Si-rich SiO2 with and without silicon nanocrystals are shown to exhibit a similar temperature dependence.

ChemInform Abstract: Persistent UV Phosphors for Application in Photo Catalysis.

Ce3+-doped strontium aluminosilicates (Sr1-?M?) 1+yAl2-xBxSiyO4+3y (M: Ca, Mg, Ba) are prepared by solid state reactions of Al2O3, B2O5, SiO2, MCO3 (M: Ca, Mg, Ba), and Ce2(CO3)3 (5% H2/95% N2, 1200 ?C, 2 h) and characterized by XRD and photoluminescence spectroscopy.

Incorporation of the title polysilacage moiety into chromophores such as biphenyl, terphenyl, stilbene and tolan is found to induce bathochromic shifts of absorption and fluorescence spectra as well as enhancements of molar extinction coefficients and fluorescence quantum yields.

Organic-Inorganic Nanosystem Based on Fullerene Embedded in Porous Silicon Matrix

This has influence on the luminescent properties of porous silicon, which is of a special interest for cathode luminescence spectra with the appearance of an additional band at E = 3.2-3.4 eV. A possible mechanism of such an effect is discussed.
