Short-wavelength upconversion luminescence of Yb3+/Tm3+ co-doped glass ceramic containing SrF2 nanocrystals

The preparation process and upconversion luminescence properties of the Yb3+ and Tm3+ co-doped glass ceramic containing SrF2 nanocrystals were investigated. In the glass ceramic, the SrF2 nanocrystals were embedded uniformly in the glass matrix.

Temperature-dependent six-photon upconversion fluorescence of Er3+

Under 980nm excitation, 256 and 244nm UC emissions were observed in ?-NaYF4:Yb3+/Er3+ microcrystals and assigned to six-photon processes. These two emissions exhibited temperature dependent characteristic, which is attributed to the multiphonon relaxation process of 2 I 11/2 ? 4 D 7/2.

Hydrothermal synthesis and the enhanced blue upconversion luminescence of NaYF4:Nd3+,Tm3+,Yb3+

The Active-Core/Active-Shell Approach: A Strategy to Enhance the Upconversion Luminescence in Lanthanide-Doped Nanoparticles

Nanoparticles of NaGdF4 doped with trivalent erbium (Er3+) and ytterbium (Yb3+) are prepared by a modified thermal decomposition synthesis from trifluoroacetate precursors in 1-octadecene and oleic acid. The nanoparticles emit visible upconverted luminescence on excitation with near-infrared light.
