Solution Phase Chemistry of Lanthanide Complexes. 12. 1:1 and 1:2 Lanthanide Complexes with s-Carboxymethoxysuccinic Acid

The solution phase coordination chemistry associated with 1:1 and 1:2 complexes of lanthanide ions with S-carboxymethoxysuccinic acid (CMOS) has been studied by spectroscopic means.

Phonon-assisted luminescence anomalies in Eu2 doped Ca1-xSrxF2 mixed crystals

With increasing X on Ca1-xSrxF2 mixed crystals doped with Eu2+ (4f65d) ions, the absorption peak shifted linearly to that of SrF2:Eu, while the luminescence one moved parabolically with a minimum at around x=0.5. The linewidth broadened nearly twice as large as that of CaF2 in the vicinity of x=0.

Detection of Nonvisible Writings by Infrared Luminescence and Ultraviolet Fluorescence

The presence of nonvisible written material was detected on documents during an examination for infrared luminescence. An experiment was conducted to examine absorption by paper of noncolor ink components from documents bearing written material. Various inks were used to prepare sample writings.

An Evaluation of the Use of Laser-Induced Infrared Luminescence to Differentiate Writing Inks

An examination of 56 inks with an argon-ion laser revealed the laser will sometimes stimulate infrared luminescence in inks which did not produce infrared luminescence under the video spectral comparator (VSC-1).

Picosecond Time Resolved Electron Injection from Excited Cresyl Violet Monomers and Cd3P2 Quantum Dots into TiO2

Picosecond time resolved luminescence was employed for monitoring the decay of electronic excited reactants on the surface of oxide semiconductors. Decay of cresyl violet monomers was determined on TiO2 and on ?-Al2O3 by measuring decay curves over a wide range of very low coverages.
