A perspective on materials characterization for technology advancement and industrial growth: Emphasis on non-destructive evaluation

The materials characterization encompasses determining chemical constituents, microstructural characterization down to a few Angstroms level and defect assessment from a few micrometers to few millimeters in a wide variety of materials.

Coercivity enhancement in Nd–Fe–B sintered permanent magnet by Dy nanoparticles doping

Sol–gel synthesis and characterization of Ba(1−x)Sr x TiO3 ceramics

Ba(1?x)Sr x TiO3 (x =0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) nanopowders were synthesized from alkoxide solution precursor by sol?gel process. The Ba(1?x)Sr x TiO3 powders calcined at 800?C for 2h were maintained in cubic phase and the cell parameters were in the range of 4.0282?3.9786.

Bootstrap refinements in tests of microstructure frictions

We review the key to obtaining the improvement and compare asymptotic and bootstrap inferences of three variance ratio tests used in microstructure research. The more precise bootstrap inferences lead to conclusions that differ from those found in extant research on transitory volatility.

Undercooling associated with slow freezing and its influence on the microstructure and properties of rice starch gels

Microscopic observation of laser glazed yttria-stabilized zirconia coatings

Glazing the top coat by laser beam is advanced approach to seal TBCs surface. The laser beam has the advantage of forming a dense thin layer composed of micrograins. Plasma-sprayed yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) coating was glazed with Nd-YAG laser at different operating conditions.
