Insights into fry-drying process of wood through a simplified approach of heat and mass transport phenomena

Fry-drying process of wood involves intense water vaporization. The pressure at a sample core increases over 250kPa. Under such pressure conditions, vapour transport driven by Darcy's law should be considered as the prevailing phenomenon in a simplified heat and mass transport model.

Supercritical CO2 extraction of dittany oil: Experiments and modelling

The extraction of oil from dittany (Origanum dictamnus) using supercritical carbon dioxide was investigated. The experiments were performed in a bench scale apparatus at the pressures of 100 and 150bar and at the temperatures of 40 and 60?C.

Rate‐based modelling of reactive absorption of acid gases in an aqueous methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) solution

In this work different tools for accurate prediction of acid gas absorption are used. At first, simulation of reactive absorption is carried out using the RATEFRAC module of Aspen Plus, which is tested against pilot plant data. The limitations and disadvantages of this module are presented.

Influence of mass transfer on gelation time using VIPS-gelation process for chitin dissolved in LiCl/NMP solvent—Modelling and experimental study

non-isotherm mass transfer model is developed for gelation of chitin induced by non-solvent. The system studied in this paper concerns chitin dissolved in LiCl/N-methyl-2-pyrolidone (NMP) at different concentrations ranging from 0.5 to 5% (w/v), and the water as the non-solvent.
