Detection of low-level PTFE contamination: An application of solid-state NMR to structure elucidation in the pharmaceutical industry

We report a novel use of solid-state 19F nuclear magnetic resonance to detect and quantify polytetrafluoroethylene contamination from laboratory equipment, which due to low quantity (up to 1% w/w) and insolubility remained undetected by standard analytical techniques.

Preparation of aminofunctionalized TiO2 surfaces by binding of organophosphates

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) powder was chemically modified with 2-aminoethyl dihydrogen phosphate (AEPH2) and with 2-aminoethyl hydrogen ammonium phosphate (AEPHNH4) in order to achieve an aminofunctionalized high-surface-area TiO2 carrier suitable for more complex functionalizing.

Quantification of protein backbone hydrogen-deuterium exchange rates by solid state NMR spectroscopy

We present the quantification of backbone amide hydrogen-deuterium exchange rates (HDX) for immobilized proteins. The experiments make use of the deuterium isotope effect on the amide nitrogen chemical shift, as well as on proton dilution by deuteration.
