Cyclic oxidation of Ti3AlC2 at 1000–1300°C in air

? In this manuscript, the cyclic-oxidation behavior of Ti3AlC2 was systematically studied at 1000?1300?C in air for up 40 cycles for the first time. ? The results revealed that Ti3AlC2 had excellent resistance to thermal cycling.

Microstructural evolution of coating-modified 3D C/SiC composites after annealing in wet oxygen at different temperatures

Descaling ability of low-alloy steel wires depending on composition and rolling process

Low-alloy steels made by industrial processes are covered with an iron oxide layer. Descaling is necessary before any shaping operations by wire drawing can be done to transform wires. In order to ease the descaling stage, this oxide layer must have low adhesion.

Oxidation of a NiCrAlYSi overlayer with or without a diffusion barrier deposited by one-step arc ion plating

The coating systems of a NiCrAlYSi overlayer with or without a diffusion barrier (DB) were deposited by one-step arc ion plating (AIP). Isothermal and cyclic oxidations were performed at 1050?C for 100h and 100 cycles, respectively.

A fundamental study of Fe–Cr binary alloy–oxide film interfaces at 288°C by computational chemistry calculations

quantum chemical molecular dynamics method was used in order to understand the oxide film degradation mechanism at metal/metal?oxide interfaces. The present study shows that oxygen diffusivity in the metal is significantly higher at a Fe?Cr/Fe2O3 interface compared to a Fe?Cr/Cr2O3 interface.
