Shape-controlled Pd nanostructure catalysts for highly efficient electrochemical power sources

We report polygonal Pd catalysts on carbon black synthesized by means of polyol process in the presence of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) and NO3 ? ion. We find that the polygonal Pd/C has dominant {111} facets observed by X-ray diffraction method and transmission electron microscopy analysis.

Degradation mechanism of diethyl phthalate with electrogenerated hydroxyl radical on a Pd/C gas-diffusion electrode

Using a self-made Pd/C gas-diffusion electrode as the cathode and a Ti/IrO2/RuO2 anode, the degradation of diethyl phthalate (DEP) has been investigated in an undivided electrolysis device by electrochemical oxidation processes.

The effect of palladium dispersion and promoters on lactose oxidation kinetics

Lactose oxidation was investigated at 70 ?C and at pH 8 using oxygen as an oxidant over a comprehensive set of commercially available mono- and multi-metallic as well as promoted Pd catalysts with active carbon, alumina and calcium carbonate as catalyst supports.

Characterization of alumina-supported uranium oxide catalysts in methane oxidation

Synthesis of alumina-supported uranium oxide catalysts and their characterization in methane oxidation have been performed. The catalysts containing 5% U were prepared by impregnation, solid-phase synthesis and mechanical mixing techniques. Samples were studied using BET, XRD, HRTEM and XPS methods.

Using time-resolved methods to monitor and understand catalytic oxidation reactions

The present review demonstrates the potential of these methods for elucidating mechanistic and kinetic aspects of oxidative functionalization of C2?C3 hydrocarbons, water?gas shift reaction, direct N2O decomposition, and high-temperature ammonia oxidation to nitric oxide (Ostwald process).

Olefins production by catalytic partial oxidation of ethane and propane over Pt/LaMnO3 catalyst

Ethylene+acetylene yields exceeding 68% with selectivities above 80% are obtained over novel doped Pt/LaMnO3 catalysts under self-sustained ethane CPO at short contact time. Insights are presented on the impact of catalyst dopants and type of sacrificial fuel (CH4, CO, H2).

The improved electrocatalytic activity of palladium/graphene nanosheets towards ethanol oxidation by tin oxide

Tin oxide (SnO2)/graphene nanosheets (GNS) composite was prepared by a simple chemical-solution method as the catalyst support for direct ethanol fuel cells. Then the SnO2-GNS composites supporting Pd (Pd/SnO2-GNS) catalysts were synthesized by a microwave-assisted reduction process.

Electrochemical promotion of methane oxidation on Rh/YSZ

The effect of electrochemical promotion of catalysis (NEMCA effect or EPOC) has been studied for the methane oxidation reaction over Rh catalytic films interfaced with YSZ, an oxygen ion conductor, at temperatures from 350 to 550?C, under reducing, stoichiometric and oxidizing conditions.
