Shape-controlled Pd nanostructure catalysts for highly efficient electrochemical power sources

We report polygonal Pd catalysts on carbon black synthesized by means of polyol process in the presence of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) and NO3 ? ion. We find that the polygonal Pd/C has dominant {111} facets observed by X-ray diffraction method and transmission electron microscopy analysis.

The improved electrocatalytic activity of palladium/graphene nanosheets towards ethanol oxidation by tin oxide

Tin oxide (SnO2)/graphene nanosheets (GNS) composite was prepared by a simple chemical-solution method as the catalyst support for direct ethanol fuel cells. Then the SnO2-GNS composites supporting Pd (Pd/SnO2-GNS) catalysts were synthesized by a microwave-assisted reduction process.

Effects of Alpha- Tocopherol on the Velocity of Low Density Lipoprotein Oxidation by Cupric Ions

We studied the effect of different concentrations of alpha-tocopherol on in vitro cupric ions induced oxidation of low density lipoproteins (LDL). Human native LDL (50 A?g protein/ml) oxidation was induced by 10 A?mol/L of CuSO4.

Biogeochemical signatures and microbial activity of different cold-seep habitats along the Gulf of Mexico deep slope

Rates of SR were highest in sediments beneath microbial mats, lower in brine-influenced and oil-influenced sediments, and lowest in animal habitats. Sediments collected near tubeworms had the highest SR rates for animal habitats.
