Photocatalytic generation of sulphate and hydroxyl radicals using zinc oxide under low-power UV to oxidise phenolic contaminants in wastewater

Three different oxidants viz peroxymonosulphate (PMS), peroxydisulphate (PDS) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) were employed to generate active sulphate/hydroxyl radicals for oxidation. The synergetic effect of combination of UV/oxidant/ZnO was investigated for the three different oxidant systems.

Effects of Sb doping level on the properties of Ti/SnO2-Sb electrodes prepared using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis

Preparation and characteristics of a nano-PbO2 anode for organic wastewater treatment

nano-PbO2 anode (PbO2/NT) was prepared by a pulse electrodeposition (PED) method. Self-organized TiO2 nanotube (NT) arrays were produced by electrochemical anodization and used as a substrate to load PbO2 by PED method.

Sewage sludge based catalysts for catalytic wet air oxidation of phenol: Preparation, characterisation and catalytic performance

In this study the use of novel CWAO catalysts, namely potentially low cost, sewage sludge derived activated carbons was explored. Two types of municipal sludge were used: dewatered raw filter cake and dewatered mesophilic anaerobically digested sludge.

Cobalt exchanged zeolites for heterogeneous catalytic oxidation of phenol in the presence of peroxymonosulphate

High surface area graphites (HSAG) present an improved performance for being used as supports of palladium catalysts for hydrodechlorination reactions. A pertinent activation of the material leads to catalysts more active and resistant to deactivation than other conventional supports.
