Efficiency and Mechanism of Stabilizing Effect of Organic Phosphorous Acids in Polymers

Kinetics and Mechanism of Oxidation of Mono- and Polyacetals

Kinetics and mechanisms of oxidation of 6 acetals by molecular oxygen and ozone in liquid phase have been studied. Reaction with molecular oxygen (70?C, 15-16 hr) leads to the formation monoethers of the corresponding glycols with 68-90% selectivity.

An Investigation of the Effect of Plasma Treatment on the Surface Properties and Adhesion in Sheet Molded Composite (SMC) Material

Sheet molded composite was treated with different plasmas (oxygen, dry air, nitrogen, and argon). Plasma treatment of SMC alters the surface properties in a manner dependent on the type of plasma used and the time of treatment.

Ozonation of Several Organic Compounds Having Low Molecular Weight under Ultraviolet Irradiation

Ozonation of several low molecular weight organic compounds under ultraviolet irradiation was studied. Nine compounds were identified as reaction products of the ozonation of phenol which was promoted by the simultaneous use of ozone and ultraviolet irradiation.

Decomposition of Ethylene Glycol by the Combined Use of Ozone Oxidation and Electrolytic Methods

Decomposition of ethylene glycol by the combined use of an ozone oxidation and an electrolytic method was studied. The overall order of reaction was 0.8 with respect to the concentration of ethylene glycol, and 0.7 to that of ozone in the feed gas.

SYNTHESIS AND ABSOLUTE CONFIGURATIONS OF OPTICALLY ACTIVE OXOSULFONIUM SALTS

The optically active arylethylmethyloxosulfonium perchlorates (2a-c) were prepared by the oxidation of the corresponding sulfonium salts (la-c) with sodium perbenzoate. The absolute configurations of oxosulfonium salts were determined by converting them into aryl ethyl sulfoxides (3a-c).

SYNTHESIS OF OXOSULFONIUM SALTS BY THE OXIDATION OF SULFONIUM SALTS

general synthetic method for oxosulfonium salts by oxidation of sulfonium salts with sodium perbenzoate (or sodium m-chloroperbenzoate was developed. In case of the oxidation of aryldimethylsulfonium salts, the corresponding oxosulfonium salts (1e-h) were obtained in 64-91 % yields.
