Seasonal variation of methane emissions from a temperate swamp

AbstractMethane flux measurements were made at four sites in a freshwater temperate swamp over the 13 month period of April 1985 through May 1986. Emissions were highly variable both between sites and over time at any one site. Ebullition from sediments was an important component of methane release.

Uptake rates are reported as the slope of rate vs. concentration curves in each case. N uptake rates of U. curvata were inversely correlated with tissue N and affected only slightly by temperature. There was no correlation of N uptake rate with tissue N in C.

Auditory brainstem responses in ground squirrels arousing from hibernation

The responses showed a gradual development of all brainstem peaks.At low temperatures there were very long latencies to the peaks. The amplitudes of the peaks increased (with fluctuations) as brain temperature increased.
