Using non-invasive magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess the reduction of Cr(VI) using a biofilm-palladium catalyst

Cr(VI)(aq) is non-paramagnetic while Cr(III)(aq) is paramagnetic, which enabled spatial mapping of Cr species concentrations within the reactor cell using non-invasive magnetic resonance (MR) imaging experiments. Spatial reactivity heterogeneities were thus examined.

Usefulness of various MRI sequences in the diagnosis of viral encephalitis

This study highlights the sensitivity of different MRI sequences in revealing brain abnormalities in 88 patients with viral encephalitis. MRI abnormalities were more common in herpes and Japanese encephalitis compared to dengue encephalitis. The MRI abnormalities in FLAIR sequence was 57.1%, T2 52.

Joint edge detection and motion estimation of cardiac MR image sequence by a phase field method

In this paper a variational framework for joint segmentation and motion estimation is employed for inspecting heart in Cine MRI sequences. A functional including Mumford?Shah segmentation and optical flow based dense motion estimation is approximated using the phase-field technique.

Interactive surface-guided segmentation of brain MRI data

MRI segmentation is a process of deriving semantic information from volume data. For brain MRI data, segmentation is initially performed at a voxel level and then continued at a brain surface level by generating its approximation.

Spatially resolved quantification of metal ion concentration in a biofilm-mediated ion exchanger

A bioremediation process to remove Co2+ from aqueous solution is investigated in this study using a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocol to rapidly obtain multiple 2D spatially resolved Co2+ ion concentration maps.
